Polyimide labels offer an extremely durable and simple way to identify you PCB and allow traceability, not just through your own assembly process (SMT reflow, Wave Solder, Selective Solder, PCB Cleaning and Rework) but also for the future of the product. Commonly used barcodes like 2D Data Matrix codes can be used to add a range of product specific information in an incredibly small area. Serial numbers, Date / Batch codes, Product ID & other Manufacturing Data can be encrypted in to a small barcode only 3-4mm square. This allows for small labels down to 4x4mm to be used on PCBs where there is no spare space for traditional barcode labels.
