Loctite 549 is a single component, medium strength gel-like anaerobic gasketing product. It is used for sealing close fitting joints between rigid metal faces and flanges. Its slow curing formula ensures a secure seal, activating at room temperature when isolated from air contact. The rate of cure depends on substrate used and ambient temperature. Loctite 549 provides an instant seal to low pressures immediately after assembly of flanges.

How to use Loctite 549 Thread Sealant:

1. For best results, apply to a clean, degreased surface. We recommend using Loctite SF 7063.
2. Loctite 549 is designed for close-fitting flanged parts with gaps up to 0.25mm.
3. Apply product manually as a continuous bead or by screen printing to one surface of the flanges.
4. Tighten flanges as soon as possible to avoid shimming.

Storage

Store Loctite 549 Thread Sealant in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal storage: 8°C to 21°C. Storage below 8°C or greater than 28°C can adversely affect product properties.
