Loctite 5331 Plastic Pipe Sealant - 100ML Bottle

Loctite 5331 is a low strength, acetoxy silicone-based liquid thread sealant, designed for use on plastic or plastic/metal pipe threaded fittings carrying hot or cold water. The product cures at ambient temperatures, catalyzed by atmospheric moisture, to form a flexible seal. The cure speed of Loctite 5331 is independent of substrates, necessitating only a minimum atmospheric humidity of 40% to obtain full sealing capability within 12 hours.

Loctite 5331 is effective even under elevated temperatures, maintaining its strength up to 150°C. Its resilience makes it ideal for diverse applications, including industrial and agricultural plastic water pipe systems, as well as drainage systems. Loctite 5331 carries several approvals and certifications, including NSF Category P1 registration for use as a sealant where there is no possibility of food contact in and around food processing environments.

How to use Loctite 5331 Plastic Pipe Sealant:

1. For best results, apply to a clean, degreased surface.
2. Apply Loctite 5331 to both male and female threads. Work the sealant into the threads to ensure good wetting.
3. Assemble and tighten as required.
4. For systems carrying potable water, allow the product to cure for 96 hours at 20-23°C before use.

Storage

Store Loctite 5331 Plastic Pipe Sealant in the unopened container in a dry location. Optimal storage: 8°C to 21°C. Storage below 8°C or greater than 28°C can adversely affect product properties.
