LOCTITE 222 is a low-strength threadlocker that allows the adjustment of screws including countersunk head screws and set screws.

Product Information

Minimising the risk of "backing out" or loosening once assembly is complete, Loctite 222 Screwlock Controlled Torque thread locker is a versatile compound that lubricates the fixing whilst it's being worked on, as well as providing a low-strength locking action. This product is especially useful for smaller screws.

Features:

  • Operates up to 150°C
  • Resistant to deterioration
  • Lubricating action
  • Six-hour curing time
  • Hand loosening of the screw is still possible

Loctite 222 Suitable for Almost any Screw

Loctite 222 Screwlock Controlled Torque thread locker can be used on most types of screw, including:
  • Countersunk Screws
  • Machine Screws
  • Lag Screws
  • Twinfast Screws
  • Self-tapping Screws
  • Self-drilling Screws

Retains Movement for Later Adjustment or Disassembly

Loctite 222 provides sufficient locking action to prevent a screw from jolting out of its position due to vibration or movement of the assembly. This makes it particularly useful for screws fastening engines, pumps, drills and related equipment. At the same time, the relatively low strength of the locking action means that the screw isn't utterly immobile, should disassembly or removal be required at a later date. The strength of the compound means that, even after application, screws can usually be removed by hand if necessary.

Suitable for use Where Fracturing is a Risk

A thread locker reduces the risk of fracturing during disassembly. This includes both the risk of brittle fractures and the risk of ductile fractures. The use of Loctite 222 is particularly recommended when working with alloys and metals that are prone to fracturing.

Resistant to Deterioration from Most Common Agents

This compound can withstand contact with moisture, UV light, engine oil, commonly used lubricants and most other commonplace agents. It will work effectively in temperatures ranging from -55°C up to 150°C.

Easy to Use Container

The thread locker adhesive can be dispensed straight from the container, which is designed to facilitate straightforward use and avoid over- or under-application of the product.
