Hybrid Adhesives

Hybrid adhesives combine the key properties of structural and instant adhesives into a single product. This makes them incredibly versatile, as they are designed to bind together a variety of substrates including metals, plastics, composites, elastomers and more. Hybrid adhesives also offer fast curing performance, high strength and outstanding resistance to extreme temperatures and environmental factors. Hybrid adhesives require the mixing of two components to be used. They are designed to adhere to almost any surface, regardless of its shape or size. Our range includes strong and versatile cyanoacrylate/acrylic hybrids, as well as cyanoacrylate/epoxy systems that provide excellent resistance against impacts or temperature changes. ConRo Electronics offers a choice of hybrid adhesives from major manufacturers such as Henkel Loctite. Conro Electronics is an authorized distributor for Henkel.

Advantages of hybrid adhesives

Hybrid adhesives offer several advantages over older adhesive technologies. One of the key advantages of hybrid adhesives is their superior bonding strength on a wide range of substrates. Hybrid adhesives offer outstanding performance on rubber, a material that’s often problematic for traditional structural adhesives. They also outperform older technologies on hard-to-bond substrates, such as plastic.

Additionally, hybrid adhesives offer a faster rate of cure than traditional structural adhesives. This results in faster production cycles, decreased downtime and other advantages. They also provide great flexibility and dynamic stress absorption, making them suitable for bonding materials that experience expansion or contraction. Finally, hybrid adhesives offer excellent resistance to water, chemicals, high temperatures and UV radiation, which makes them suitable for use in harsh environments.

Applications of hybrid adhesives

The versatility, strength, and durability of hybrid adhesives, combined with their ease of application and fast curing performance, make them a popular choice for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Building and construction.
  • Automotive and transportation.
  • Industrial assembly.
  • Electronics.
